Schweep lives and dies by its record. These House Rules explain exactly how every pick is graded, a win, a loss, or a push, written down up front so the outcome is never in question and never bent to make us look better. If a result is ever ambiguous, this page decides it. We don't.

01 The record is public and permanent

Every pick is posted before the games start, and it is never edited, deleted, or hidden after the fact. Wins and losses both stay on the board for the whole season. The running record you see on screen is the real one, all of it.

02 How a pick is graded

A pick is graded on the final, official result of the specific event we named. We grade on who wins, not by how much. We never grade against a point spread or a betting line, because we don't use them.

03 Baseball

Graded on the final score of the game we named, extra innings included. In a doubleheader, the pick applies to the specific game we called (Game 1 unless we say otherwise). If a game is postponed or suspended before it becomes official, the pick is a push and counts as neither a win nor a loss.

04 Soccer

Knockout and final matches, anything phrased as "to win," "to advance," or "to lift the cup", are graded on who wins the tie, including extra time and penalty shootouts. That is who actually lifts the trophy, so that is how we grade it.

League and group matches phrased as "Team to win" are graded on the 90-minute result. If the match ends level, a pick for either side to win is a loss: we called a winner and didn't get one.

05 Basketball, hockey, football and the rest

Graded on the final result, overtime included. Whoever wins the game wins the pick. As we add new sports, any sport-specific wrinkle gets written on this page first, never decided after a game has already ended.

06 Pushes and voids

A pick becomes a push, no win, no loss, only when the event cannot be fairly settled: a postponement, an abandonment, or a cancellation before an official result exists. A push never counts against the record. We do not void a pick simply because it lost.

07 Picks are locked when posted

Once a pick is published, the wording stands. We do not change the pick, the reasoning, or the grading standard after the fact. If we ever get a grade wrong, we fix it in the open and say so out loud.

08 Entertainment only
